Measurable Success of PLUS Program Participants
Abstract
PLUS is designed to increase the number of lawyers from underrepresented groups by introducing first- and second-year college students to the skills important for success in law school and to introduce them to the wide variety of professional opportunities for lawyers. The program is funded by LSAC’s Diversity Initiatives Fund, and only LSAC-member law schools are eligible to host programs. To date, 23 member law schools have received LSAC grants to host a program and 2,342 students have participated. In order to evaluate the effect that programs may have on student outcomes, a matched-pair analysis was conducted to investigate the impact of PLUS program participation.
